A1 Mobile Phone Transmits Blood Pressure Results to the Doctor
The world's first blood pressure measuring device with the Keep in Touch (KiT®) technology will be presented at MEDICA 2008 in Dusseldorf. The technology behind the solution developed by Austrian Research Centers (ARC) is NFC (Near Field Communication), which A1 introduced for commercial services as the first operator worldwide. It allows patients to transfer data from the blood pressure meter to the mobile phone and send it on in encrypted form to their doctor's medical database, all with just a single motion. This not only saves time but also allows for a more precise evaluation of the data and thus a more accurate medication adjustment.

The main findings on mobile phone use among the six- to 14-year-olds were presented yesterday evening as part of the event ROUNDABOUT KIDS.
